I support organisations from all sectors to transform their innovation activities into a value adding business function. I work with organisations to:1) Carry out an independent assessment on innovation performance to identify opportunities to enhance value2) Develop an innovation strategy, initiatives, processes and roadmaps to drive and support growth that is aligned to corporate, commercial and ESG objectives3) Develop commercial tactics and practices for portfolio appraisal and management4) Improve innovation management to professionalise activities and deliver key results5) Identify and access new revenue and funding streams, and maximise existing ones (including tax incentives, grants, and government funding)6) Access new revenue streams and reduce costs through strategic IP management7) Manage all aspects of innovation events for collaboration within and between networks (through hack-a-thon style events)Organisations face an extraordinary pace of change in technology, regulatory requirements and customer demands. Earlier trends that called for changes like digitisation and new tech are now supplemented with climate change, a war for talent, remote working and other shifts caused by the pandemic.Staying relevant and fending off competition no longer only requires transformations to the core. It also asks that you look for new paths of growth at the same time and all the time. Innovation is one of the key instruments to support this; yet many organisations often struggle to turn ideas into practical realities.Organisations that lack strong innovation governance on an organisational, portfolio and initiative level find it progressively more difficult to manage innovation as ideas move into development and then into commercialisation. When managed properly, innovation turns opportunities into reliable, financially effective and practical realities that can differentiate an organisation.
