ABOUT CONAN YOUNG

I bring more than 20 years of expertise in the preclinical development, manufacturing and technical support forcommercialization of advanced biologic/device combination products for the enhancement of tissue healing,repair and regeneration. I am a commercially-focused, executive-level R&D leader with a track-record ofsuccess in the ideation and execution of PMA/BLA combination product development strategies. My proventrack record of success includes leading the preclinical development of two recombinant PDGF-BB proteingrowth factor/device combination products, AUGMENT® Bone Graft and AUGMENT® Injectable, now approvedby FDA for orthopaedic bone repair for hindfoot/ankle arthrodesis, and a multi-million dollar product line. I ledthe non-clinical R&D effort characterizing the safety and efficacy of a human fibroblast cell therapy/devicecombination product, known as DERMAGRAFT®, for new uses and indications in dermal wound repair includingvenous leg ulcers (VLU) and dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB). My R&D team and I supported thecommercialization of DERMAGRAFT® as a treatment for diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) with new product-relatedscientific data, with peak product sales reaching $250 million per year. My experience extends to cell therapyand protein biologic manufacturing technical transfer, leading teams of cross-functional professionals to successfully transfer 2 biologics manufacturing processes to CMOs ensuring clinical and commercial product supply. I was responsible for the preclinical R&D product characterization supporting 361 HCT/P amniotic tissueproducts, EPIFIX® and AMNIOFIX®, exploring new indications, supporting their commercialization, andadvancing the products into Phase 2 clinical development. I have held R&D leadership roles at several small, medium and large biotech/med tech companies,assembling and developing several commercially-focused R&D teams. I directly interfaced with experts at FDA,Health Canada, and notified bodies in the EU to partner on and defend product development strategies. I authorednon-clinical dossiers in support of IND, IDE, PMA and BLA regulatory submissions that went on to receive regulatoryapprovals. I am an author on over 25 peer-reviewed scientific publications and inventor on 4 U.S. patents. I havea Ph.D. with a scientific background in cell biology, protein biochemistry, molecular biology and microbiology. On a personal note, my wife and I enjoy long hikes, travel, cycling, music, fishing, delicious cuisine, andspending time with our families and friends.
