Activities include- Building and strengthening relationships with forestry sector businesses (landowners, manufacturers, service providers and start-up ventures)- Developing R&D proposals and projects for university faculty, staff and research centers to assist individual companies and groups of companies- Promoting the University’s capacity to support R&D for companies throughout the state of Maine- Strategically planning and developing the necessary resources for successful forestry-related economic development projects by identifying internal and external funding sources, grant writing, and cultivating partnerships with businesses, investors and organizations- Establishing and enhancing relationships with faculty, alumni, industry experts and resource providers to support forestry sector growth in Maine- Organizing the resources of the University to support economic development related to the forestry sector including meetings, workshops, and other efforts to attract businesses in the forestry sector to the state of Maine.
