About Collette Sosnowy
I have a diverse background in healthcare services research, public health, higher education, and communications. In addition to 10+ years conducting qualitative research, I have taught inter-disciplinary college courses, managed a health education program for 3,500 university students, and conducted evaluations of innovative educational programs. I have written for both lay and technical audiences in newspapers, magazines, digital content, academic journals, and client reports. I’m also a passionate advocate for women’s health and devote my free time to social justice activism. Transferrable skills: Research project leadership: I have led and had senior roles in 12 end-to-end, multi-year studies. Responsibilities included overseeing day-to-day operations; training and mentoring junior staff; overseeing data collection, management, and analysis; collaborating with multi-site teams; and presenting results to stakeholders. Qualitative Methods: I have conducted hundreds of in-depth semi-structured and structured interviews, focus groups, observational research, secondary research, and program evaluation for 15+ projects. I use NVivo and Dedoose software for data analysis. Training and mentorship: I have trained other researchers, junior staff, and students in qualitative research methods, including interviewing and data analysis. I have taught and mentored undergraduate and graduate students, developed classroom resources, and taught college faculty to use tech platforms to teach writing. Program Evaluation: I have systematically collected, analyzed, and used data to examine the effectiveness and efficiency of health and education programs. Software: Microsoft Office Suite, NVivo, Dedoose
