About Collene Lawhorn
Collene Lawhorn is a neuroscientist by training, and the COVID Lead at the National Institute of Mental Health. She is a Senior Advisor whose work focuses on examining the acute and long term mental health impacts of the COVID pandemic on mental health. Her HIV portfolios have focused on health communication research, neural tissue banking and health disparities in global and domestic settings. While at NIMH she also worked in the Office of Science Policy, Planning and Communications on the Science Policy and Evaluation team. Prior to joining NIMH she served as a Senior Research Advisor in the Office of Health, Infectious Disease and Nutrition at the United States Agency for International Development.
