I’m a plain language genius. I\'ve recently taken over Miraka Davies\' writing training business, and we have an online school together, the School of unProfessional Writing. We believe that plain language is easier on you as a writer because you can be more yourself. It\'s also a HECK of a lot easier on your readers! I\'ve been a trainer, coach, writer, and editor in plain language for the last 14 years. I love communicating in a way that builds people up and gets things done. What are my workshops like? So, how did I become a plain language whizz? I landed a job as a plain language specialist at Write Limited, the world\'s biggest plain language consultancy. I worked there for 14 years. I can teach 22 different workshops on work-related communication, from presentation skills to critical thinking to writing for lawyers. And I’ve read well over pieces of writing from workshop participants over the years. Everyone worries about the same things when it comes to writing. Things like sounding too casual not being taken seriously enough not hitting the mark with multiple audiences I’ve seen it all, and I’ve got solutions because I’ve solved the same problem for people thousands of times.
