ABOUT COLLEEN M. NGUYEN

As a nonprofit leader, community organizer, and public health practitioner, I am committed to building systems of care that reflect the communities too often left out of decision-making rooms.Currently, I serve as Executive Director of Asian Women for Health, a Boston-based nonprofit advancing health through culturally responsive education, workforce development, and community-engaged research. Our work focuses on systems change, developing sustainable pathways for Community Health Workers, and amplifying community voices in public health and scientific research.Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked across sectors - from grassroots organizing and political strategy to academic research and patient-partnered clinical genomics at the Broad Institute. My leadership bridges rigorous public health practice with lived experience, pushing for transformative models of partnership between communities, researchers, and institutions.I collaborate with funders, health systems, and research institutions to co-create initiatives rooted in trust and shared decision-making. If you’re working to fund bold ideas, support community-rooted innovation, or shift narratives in health and science - I’d love to connect.Other topics of interest include RAI and AI ethics within public health, healthcare, and science.Beyond that - I’m also the mom to a bright, curious little boy with a complex learning profile and disabilities. Raising him has deepened my commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and systems that recognize and respond to the full humanity of every individual. I’m also the daughter of Vietnamese refugees, shaped by stories of survival, strength, and unwavering love. These identities are not separate from my professional life - they are the foundation of it.Advisory & Leadership Roles• Member, Mayor Wu\'s Live Long and Well Advisory Council - City of Boston (2026 - Present)• Member, Workforce Advisory Council - de Beaumont Foundation (2026 - Present)• Honoree, 40 Under 40 (Class of 2025)- de Beaumont Foundation (2025 - Present)• Member, One Mind Community Advisory Network - One Mind (2025 - Present)
