PMO Lead for Arup’s role as Engineering Partner in this major project to establish a strategic railway connecting East Anglia with Central, Southern and Western England. The Engineering Partner commission has blended specialist advice into a wider design commission, growing from initial advisory and programme mobilisation to involve c150 FTEs and individuals from across Arup. As PMO Lead, Colleen is leading a team covering project, commercial, schedule, information, and risk management across multiple workstreams. She works collaboratively with the client team at East West Railway Co. in a “one team” approach. This approach has enabled the team to adapt to project changes and work with EWR Co. to resolve issues to deliver the design rapidly. Colleen’s reliability in managing the processes and maintaining project controls has helped maintain a positive and collaborative relationship with the client. In 2021, Colleen supported the execution of a £6.1M extension for the Engineering Partner contract, collaborating with project leadership to set priorities and define the program scope, budget and timeline. As the Engineering Partner contract is now concluding, she is establishing closeout processes to ensure a successful handover from the Arup team to the client.
