About Colleen Cottrell

In 2022 I began a major career switch from marketing to occupational therapy. I wanted a job that felt more aligned with my values. The process has been scary and humbling but ultimately feels worth it. Being in a field where I get to use my creativity, problem-solving skills, and curiosity to help others is the right place for me. I believe in the power of occupational therapy to bring positive change on the individual, organizational, and systemic level. As an OT student, I gained hands-on experience in diverse settings, including acute care, home-based care, pediatrics and behavioral health where I honed my skills in assessment, intervention planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.After completing Level II Fieldwork placements in July 2025 and taking the NBCOT exam, I will be on the hunt for an OT job where I can apply my skills related to the therapeutic process.
