ABOUT COLLEEN NAKHOODA
I\'m a second-year student at Syracuse University studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and minoring in Psychology within the College of Arts and Sciences.Originally from Aurora, Ohio (near Cleveland), I loved storytelling from an early age and developed a passion for current events and social advocacy. The power of discovering others\' stories, developing my media literacy, and engaging in \"reading in\" became captivating to me. My goal is to be an informative contributor to the news industry. Writing, current events, social justice, championing women\'s advancement in journalism, and mental health advocacy led me to study a combination of broadcast journalism and psychology. Since coming to SU, I\'ve been proud to work as a reporter for CitrusTV, become a member of Newhouse\'s Women in Communications Club, serve my sorority on the BEDI (Belonging Equity Diversity and Inclusion) and Sisterhood Chairwoman Committee of Gamma Phi Beta Alpha Chapter, and play on the intramural volleyball team.
