   Governors\' Climate & Forests Task Force

   Direct the world’s largest subnational governmental network dedicated to reducing tropical deforestation and promoting low emissions development through policy innovation. The GCF Task Force is comprised of members from 38 states and provinces in 10 countries spanning the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon and Indonesia, as well as including forested regions in Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Spain, and U.S.A. • Set and implement strategic direction for policy innovation and mission driven projects working closely with GCF Task Force Governors, Secretaries of the Environment, and civil servant delegates. • Build relationships and manage projects and partnerships with stakeholders including Norway’s Ministry of Climate and Environment (NICFI), the Norwegian Agency for International Development (Norad), UN REDD+ Programme, US AID, and national government agencies, foundations, NGOs, and private sector actors.• Work closely and provide strategic guidance with global and regional committees for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs) to foster and strengthen IPLC-governmental partnerships and promote IPLC interests in policies and state-level projects. • Provide guidance on IPLC processes and interests to leading forest and climate foundations and donor governments.• Manage the Global Secretariat staff at the University of Colorado and Regional Leads in Brazil, Peru, Mexico and Indonesia.
