ABOUT COLLEEN COCCA
I am a recent graduate of the Rutgers University Master of Social Work program with a certificate in Aging and Health and an emphasis on Behavioral Health. I am passionate to work with the older adult population with a focus on geriatric behavioral health. As we face a new era of health care needs, older adults will need social workers to provide compassionate, ethical, and evidence-based practices to ensure the highest quality of life.Through my internship experience at an acute psychiatric hospital, I have gained knowledge in DSM-5 diagnoses and evidence-based treatments, created treatment plans, and worked with families to create successful discharge plans. I am eager to continue to learn and grow as a social worker, during one of the most exciting times in this field.
