ABOUT COLIN STORRIER
Here are six quick things about me and my experience.1. I have worked in financial services for over 15 years in companies large and small, including Lloyds Banking Group, Aviva, and Schroders Personal Wealth.2. I am a commercially minded individual, a quick learner and very adaptable. I have been intentional in taking on roles that offered a steep learning curve. I was a Change Manager in my early twenties, working on the HBOS Plc and Lloyds TSB Plc merger; and latterly, the TSB Bank Plc initial public offering. I went on to manage high value corporate clients in the wealth management sector; and then moved into a capital and liquidity role as a Balance Sheet Manager, becoming an expert in capital regulation.3. People ask what a Head of Business Management does; the answer is a little bit of everything, so my broad experience has really served me well. I\'m a leader in the business, reporting to our Chief Operating Officer. My role is about getting things done, you can throw anything at me, and I will deliver it with a smile on my face, faster and more efficiently than most. I have strong leadership skills and take an active role in driving our business forward. I am very much a problem solver. Devising and implementing strategy is central to what I do. It does not always feel like a job, as I get to work on exciting programmes with talented people.4. My work ethic and drive are second to none. I am from a relatively poor background, but I am a firm believer in working hard and seeking out new opportunities to learn and develop. Importantly, I would never pull up the ladder behind me. I am proud to mentor several junior colleagues and provide wider support in my community through volunteering. Being part of a team that works well together, trusts each other, and can have fun together is very important to me. I truly believe that to be successful, teamwork and collaboration are critical. I love to work in an environment where people can bounce ideas off each other and are open to challenge to drive a brilliant result.6. Everyone should have hobbies and interests outside of work. I love climbing Scotland’s Munros, I am an enthusiastic reader of any genre, and I even write occasionally. Oh, and I love dogs!
