Software Engineer with a passion for designing and implementing practical solutions to real world challenges. Experienced in building full-stack JavaScript applications through Test-Driven Development utilizing React, Redux, Node/Express, SQL/NoSQL, and Jest. Currently working on the development of Kafka NightOwl, an open source visualization tool for senior engineers to monitor Apache Kafka clusters with real time metrics, insights, and alerts. Firm believer in the power of open source to the software development community. Recently, I delivered a tech talk for the Jeeny and Bractlet speaker series, sharing expertise on database management, including sharding, failover, and recovery. In my free time, you can find me rowing on D.C.\'s historic rivers, learning and playing chess online, and exploring game dev environments (specifically Unreal Engine 5, it looks amazing).
