ABOUT COLIN RICE

Colin Rice has been helping clients in the private sector navigate the myriad regulatory challenges and opportunities associated with government approvals since 2019. A seasoned advocate, Colin\'s practice shines in the local government space with a particular focus on Land Use. He has represented clients throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Sarasota, Manatee, Polk, Columbia, Orange, Lake, St. Johns and Collier counties, as well as the City of Tampa, St. Petersburg, Indian Rocks Beach, New Port Richey, Clearwater, Redington Shores, Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach, Temple Terrace and Plant City. Colin has represented various clients seeking local government approvals in Hillsborough, Pasco, Sarasota, Manatee, Polk, Columbia and Collier Counties, as well as the City of Tampa, the Town of Redington Shores, Temple Terrace, and Plant City. While obtaining his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, Colin clerked with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation: Real Estate Division. He received his B.A. in English from Emory University in 2009.Colin has extensive experience in rezonings, comprehensive plan amendments, annexations, municipal code text amendments, variances, flood control regulations, special/conditional uses, code enforcement, local official appeals, homestead exemptions, easement disputes, and special assessments. Colin has secured local and state alcohol license approvals (\"wet-zonings\") for eight different establishments since 2020. Colin is on the board of the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Emory University Alumni Association, serves on the Tampa Bay Chamber Small Business of the Year Committee, and is a 2024 participant in Leadership Tampa. When Colin is not working, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two young boys.
