Experience

  1. Lead Hardware Engineer

    Swift Sensors

    Aug 2019 — Present

Specified, Designed, and Verified a Brand New BLE(Nordic nRF52840) Sensor + Gateway Collector product line “Series 3,” Achieving true Low energy (<10uA avg). This entire product from inception to Market was only 10 months with a very small team of 4. I design the Prototype + Production PCBAs for both Sensor + Gateways, also having had a hand in every part of the design, even Mechanics(for example, achieving IP Ratings, Materials Eng) Assisted with the Embedded FW Development of a Novel Bluetooth 5 Architecture- Sending Data via Advertising. Organizing and Performing Compliance + Qualification Testing such as; FCC, IC, CE, UL, and also HALT Testing to inform Specifications. Designed and Integrated a successful Thermal Calibration Unit for Eagle Eye Networks’ Thermal Cameras, referred to as a “BlackBody.” This also utilized our Bluetooth Platform from “Series 3,” to have a tight PID control loop. Designed and Integrated 30 other “Series 3” variations for both Sensors and Gateways, including Support for Pfizer Vaccine + custom applications Monitoring. Active Mentor junior EE/ME/CS Students All Designs have required Expert-Level Knowledge with both Power Electronics, Small Signal Electronics, and Materials Engineering. Coordinating Vendors Overseas, writing Procedural Documentation, and overseeing Mass-Production Runs of “Series 3.” Ability to create working Prototypes with 50+ SMD Parts (down to 0201, even BGA) within a week, applying skills developed from IPC Class 2 Soldering Classes + training from previous positions. Track-Record of Solving the Hardest problems at hand in the company for HW + Embedded FW. Anything Hardware or Firmware related- I\'m involved and must coordinate, design, test, verify, qualify, or code. Firmware is mostly QA/Testing and Troubleshooting. When it comes to Hardware- I\'m there designing the concept\'s inception, bringing into the world functional, safe devices used for Measurement, Asset Tracking, IAQ monitoring.
