   The Special Secure Computing Division (S2CD) fills the Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) and Common Control Provider (CCP) roles for GTRI Special Programs in accordance with the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG). S2CD works closely with Research Security’s Special Cyber Security division, GTRI project directors, and lab computer support representatives to provide secure computing resources for GTRI projects- Designed and implemented scalable IT infrastructure (compute, hardware/virtual, OS, storage, networking, security) based on researcher needs- Administered Windows 10, Server 2016, Server 2019, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux- Wrote Ansible playbooks to automate sysadmin tasks and increase team efficiency- Utilized Vagrant to develop and test infrastructure management scripts- Managed, administered, and updated systems under the Risk Management Framework- Validated security control configuration on systems, using SCAP scans, STIG’s, and Nessus scans- Created Splunk dashboards to monitor networks for anomalies and security events- Contributed to the development of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CICD) processes using DevOps and DevSecOps principles- Cross Domain Data Exchange and Systems Integration- Managed Virtual Machine (VM) testing environments- Actively collaborated with customers and external teams, derived tasks from detailed requirements, and provided sub-tasking to team members- Acted as the primary gatekeeper for infrastructure as code (IaC) merges- Ensured software adheres to coding standards/practices, provided software and merge request code reviews- Configured and maintained security boundary devices (IDS/IPS, firewalls, perimeter routing)- Coordinated incident response, disaster recovery, and operations continuity planning- Utilized Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) to implement and maintain secure cyber policies/procedures within Special Access Programs (SAP’s).
