About Colin Compas

Medical image processing and analysis, currently focusing on anomaly detection for clinical decision support. Large amounts of patient data is being combined into clinical databases leading to opportunities for enhanced decision making in diagnosis. My focus is on automatically extracting relevant features from images and relating the image information to patient records can provide diagnostic support to clinicians.Dissertation research focused on deformation analysis in echocardiography. Specifically, the work focused on combining shape tracking and speckle tracking in cardiac ultrasound using an adaptive radial basis function approach with the aim of finding more accurate strain measurements over the entire myocardium. A central goal of this work was to facilitate a better understanding of myocardial infarction as well as the efficacy of various treatment methods.Long-term goals of my research emphasize the use of noninvasive, automatic analysis methods to improve quantification of abnormalities associated with different pathologies and enhance diagnostic accuracy.Specialties: Programming: Matlab, Java, C++Software: Philips QLAB
