Principal Engineer in the areas of Facility Siting, Quantitative Risk Assessment, Process Hazard Analysis. Specializing in the development and application of quantitative methods to assess hazards and risks from chemical processing operations, transportation, and storage. Mr. Armstrong is highly-skilled in the areas of quantitative risk analysis and facility siting; he actively leads successful quantitative risk analyses and risk-based facility siting studies around the globe, for facilities in the oil, gas, and specialty chemical industries. He has taught QRA techniques to operating companies and university students.Mr. Armstrong\'s experience and skills include all aspects of PHA team leadership, and PSM auditing. Mr. Armstrong is proficient in a wide array of PHA techniques, including HAZOP, HAZOP/LOPA, FTA, and FMEA. He has lead numerous successful PHA’s for clients in the petroleum, chemical, agriculture, and alternative energy sectors. Additional experience includes safety instrumented systems, pressure relief system design, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis.
