  1. Lead Technology Facilitator

    G Code

Aug 2022 — Present · Boston, MA, US

At G{Code}, a Boston-based non-profit organization committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity in the tech industry, I serve as the Lead Facilitator for the Intro to Web Development program. This role allows me to marry my nearly two decades of industry experience with my passion for empowering the next generation of tech leaders, particularly women and non-binary folk of color. My key contributions at G{Code} so far have been- assisted the Director of Programs in developing the blueprint for a comprehensive, hands-on web development curriculum that covers HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, among other technologies. The course aims to provide students, some of whom may have never considered a career in tech before G{Code}, with practical skills that are directly transferable to the workforce- led a team of facilitators, community advocates and volunteers, ensuring the curriculum is delivered effectively. Conducted weekly retros and planning sessions to maintain high educational standards- reached out to volunteers on a week-by-week basis to prepare them for the material covered during the hands-on portions of each week\'s class. Maintained relationships with perennial volunteers in order to encourage experienced support during difficult or intense portions of the curriculum- actively contributed to building a supportive, inclusive community by initiating topic-based discussion channels focused on fields that the students express interest in pursuing after their time at G{Code}- utilized my extensive background in QA to implement robust evaluation metrics for both student progress and program effectiveness, making subtle adjustments to the curriculum in real-time to better meet student needs;I find immense satisfaction in contributing to G{Code}\'s mission to create a more equitable tech landscape. I am grateful for the opportunity to impact change at the grassroots level, one student at a time.
