About Colin Reed

Throughout my career with Clark Construction Group, one of the nation\'s foremost general contractors, I have had the opportunity to take ownership of a wide variety of scopes of work as a trade manager, from interiors and finishes to building envelope and structure. This foundation of professional experience, combined with my academic background in mechanical engineering from Duke University, has provided me with a well-rounded set of experience and lessons learned that continue to serve me well as I collaborate with teams to get the job done. My first assignment with Clark was a unique, high-profile educational facility in Northern Virginia. Throughout the course of the project, I actively managed a wide variety of trades on the job, processing submittals, tracking materials, and coordinating all scopes of work to meet the project schedule and budget. After achieving substantial completion at McLearen Road Academy in May 2016, I was relocated to Clark Construction\'s northwest regional office in Seattle, WA. My first project in Seattle was the Veteran Affairs Puget Sound Healthcare System’s Mental Health and Research Facility. Joining the team at the VA halfway through the job presented a unique set of challenges and pushed me to grow my construction project management skill sets in new ways. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to become a leader on this Clark team by sharing my experience from operations in our D.C. headquarters region with newer employees in the Seattle region. Since completing the VA Mental Health & Research Facility, I have now moved on to Clark\'s joint venture with Lease Crutcher Lewis at the Washington State Convention Center Addition project. We broke ground in summer 2018, and for the duration of this project I have been managing a complex and atypical structural steel package valued at over $100 million, plus a supplemental structural steel package for part of a future project in our site footprint valued at nearly $4 million. Most recently, I have transitioned to a team manager role to help lead our structural and misc. metals team to a successful completion in July 2022. I am excited to be at the forefront of Clark Construction\'s efforts to establish a presence in the Pacific Northwest construction market.
