Helping develop customer focused ventures in the telecommunications industry. KDL was our first flagship company. At KDL, we developed and operated long haul fiber optic infrastructure. Large nationally known carriers used our network to provide voice, video and Internet services to their customers. We also directly served large enterprises and schools by tying together their multi-site locations with fiber. KDL started in Kentucky in 1996 and branched out from there. At the end of our term with this business, our continuous network spanned over route miles and reached into 26 states. In 2011, we decided to focus exclusively on Metronet, a company we launched from KDL. MetroNet is a fiber over-builder. Meaning, we develop and operate local fiber networks and provide super high speed Internet and other services directly to homes and businesses over those networks. MetroNet started in Indiana and has since expanded into many other states. This business continues to grow at a fast but healthy pace.
