Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, I:* Lead collaborative efforts across the agency to address barriers to transportation-efficient development through the implementation of policies, programs, and process improvements.* Serve as the subject matter expert on development and planning by leading guidance development and project level analysis across different planning and development groups.* Independently lead the development and implementation of policies, programs, and process improvements with statewide impact that support transportation-efficient development patterns to advance equity, health, and resilience.* Facilitate and expedite agency decisions required for the approval of transportation-efficient development, through leading coordination between development services and planning.* Assess and prioritize upcoming plans, plan amendments, and projects to communicate to joint planning/development services groups.* Mediate and help resolve disputes between the agency, local governments, and proponents of transportation-efficient development regarding land use decisions and processing development permit applications, to avoid unnecessary delays.* Lead efforts to engage other state agency planners in a cooperative transportation-efficient communities’ program, that includes periodic guidance updates, sharing best practices, providing training, developing shared communication materials, and reporting.* Participate in intra-agency discussions and produces communication materials that support improving transportation efficiency in communities.* Work closely with the Development Division’s Development Services team on updates of the design manual and other guidance related to the agency’s development services function to ensure related policies and practices support transportation-efficient development.* Provide statewide consulting expertise on complex transportation-efficient development topics.
