About Colby Hansen
I love property management but, like many, it’s not where I started. My journey began as a Nuclear Operator where I received a certification from the United States Navy as a Nuclear Qualified Electrician and Reactor Operator. I also received a certification from the US Department of Energy as a Radiological Worker. Upon finishing my time in the Nuclear Power Industry I made a transition to property management. I worked as a Leasing Consultant, Leasing Director, Assistant Property Manager, and Manager, before stepping into a role in Learning and Development. My time as a Learning and Development professional helped me understand the intricacies of leadership and communications. In 2011 I discovered my passion for Digital Marketing. I had the unique opportunity to transform Weidner Apartment Homes digital presence from a basic informational website, to a full-service customer experience. During my tenure at Weidner Apartment Homes, I was responsible for leading the online payment program from 17% penetration to 97% penetration. I setup the IT ticketing system at Weidner Apartment Homes to support the digital marketing efforts & the system was eventually adopted by every department in the company. I led the Pay-Per-Click efforts at Weidner for 6 years. During this time, I was responsible for establishing Weidner as a marketing firm with Google, securing a $100k+ monthly line of credit with Google, and managing Pay-Per-Click spend for a budget of approximately $1M annually.
