ABOUT COLBY CARTIER
I am a civil engineering student and Engineering Intern with a strong academic foundation and hands-on experience in structural design. Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, I maintain a 3.98 GPA while applying classroom theory to real-world projects in a professional design environment. My technical work includes performing load calculations in accordance with ASCE 7 and completing dozens of full structural designs, primarily focused on wood systems, that have been reviewed, approved, and implemented in constructed projects.My core skills include structural analysis and design, code-based load determination, technical documentation, and engineering software applications such as Excel, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD. I bring a detail-oriented and analytical approach to design while communicating clearly with project teams to ensure accuracy and constructability. Having grown up in a military family, I am highly adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.My short-term goal is to pass the FE exam prior to graduation and obtain my EIT certification. Long term, I aim to earn my PE license and grow into a project management role within a structural engineering firm, contributing to safe, efficient, and well-coordinated structural solutions.
