I have reached that stage where I am concentrating on the things in life that I am passionate about and feel I can achieve a result. As at the end of June 2024 I am delighted to say that I have been appointed as the new Independent Chairman of the ACC at Farnborough, a new challenge for me and look forward to the task ahead.I am very proud that I have been asked by the Birmingham Airport Consultative Committee to serve for another 12 months as their Independent Chairman and that I also remain the Chairman of UKACCs which is such a critical part of the industry. Helping my stakeholders in both roles is fulfilling and valuable in equal measure.Late in 2023 I took on the role of Senior Warden looking after a 45 acre site for the Loose Swiss Scouts. Again a real challenge and privilege. My predecessor was only in post for 40 years. so not much to learn then! For my military friends its a Range Warden type post. Really looking forward to learning the ropes and the ground. Now in March 2025 I have the honour to have been appointed as the Chairman of the Group\'s Trustees.Still active in our own railway business. As a team we have overcome some major setbacks in the last few years after our. Lots of hard yards completed, more to come. c\'est la vie. Very grateful to Tony Bird OBE Chairman of the Bird Group of Companies for his unwavering support. Despite or perhaps because of this experience I still work with businesses looking to grow or even to just survive. I am an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham (Centre for Rail Research and Education) having graduated with an MSc from the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences July 2018.
