About Cody Breckenridge
During my 9 years working at Hill Air Force Base, I\'ve done many different things. Early on, I spent my days responding to calls for help with troubleshooting industrial plant equipment. This work involved determining root causes and developing good recommendations for a fix. Gained experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing programmable logic controllers, electric motors, contactors, variable frequency drives, circuit breakers, transformers, etc. After spending some time in the field, I identified capability gaps in electrical safety and electrical maintenance practices. I made the proposal to management, they agreed, and created a new position for me as a program manager for the Electrical Preventive Maintenance (EPM) Program. I also created the Electrical Safety Working Group (ESWG) for Hill AFB. Both efforts are massive undertakings in logistics and culture change. These programs already have and will continue to improve safety and mission readiness for Hill AFB.I have also innovated in the field of arc-flash hazard communication by inventing what we call \"smart labels.\" The smart label allows qualified electrical workers to scan a QR code on a piece of electrical equipment which provides them with access to up-to-date arc-flash and shock data and facility schematics and floorplans on their device. This innovation also makes it possible to update labels electronically instead of physical re-labeling. This saves hundreds to thousands of man-hours for large campuses with hundreds of facilities. After working with Spectrum Engineers to implement EPM at Hill AFB, they have invited me to join their team to offer clients the gold standard for electrical preventive maintenance for industrial and commercial three-phase power systems. We are innovating in this field by leveraging AI and automation in our data collection process to provide clients with improved accuracy and speed of delivery of the final products of EPM.
