About Cody Joy

As an engineering project manager, I am able to leverage my electrical engineering skills to develop technology that improves people\'s lives.The best example is through my graduate research project where I developed a portable biosensor for early disease detection that was over 10 times cheaper than what is currently in the market. As the project manager to this multidisciplinary team, I worked with a team of undergraduate and high school students to design and test this updated biosensor. Overall, we were able to construct it for less than the 5+ years of experience working on various aspects of this project I have achieved the following:• I have become an expert in various fields such as medical devices, electromagnetics, and microfabrication on a project where we have been able to raise over in grant funding. • As the project manager to this multidisciplinary project, I have had the opportunity to lead over 15 undergraduate and high school students in all aspect of this project, including teaching them about the underlying theory of the design and operation of the system as well as relevant techniques, software, and instrumentation for the construction and testing of the biosensor. • As a part of this project, I have also been able to hone my written and verbal communication by writing 4 conference proceedings and giving 6 oral and poster presentations.I love being outdoors biking or playing baseball, playing my alto saxophone, and cooking. I also love new challenges. For example, I have recently taken up blacksmithing.I am always open to new challenges in the field of electrical engineering and engineering project management in the state of Texas.
