About Russell Codeofficer Jones

So you want to know more about me? You have a choice to make. You could take this innocent looking Blue Pill. There are no (known) side effects.I\'d tell you that I\'m a Staff Software Engineer from Portland, Maine with over 20 years remote experience. I\'m currently looking for full-time or contract work as a senior javascript engineer. I currently lead AI initiative work focused on developer productivity, internal tooling, platform engineering, and AI-enabled engineering workflows at Optro. I’m adept at fitting into teams of all sizes. Check out my resume. Message me here or at c••••••••@gmail.com if you\'d like to chat further. You made a great choice, truly. Or if you prefer, this Red Pill may enlighten you further. Origin stories are fun!In 1993 I was a music major in college, focused on my studies of music theory and composition for small ensemble. I oversaw the campus Mac Lab in my free time where I had unlimited time to explore all things related to the birth of the internet. This would be the first year my college provided its students a shell account and a home directory from which to host personal web pages. A truly pivotal moment in my life. I learned about HTML and HTTP, and how to write CGI scripts. I used Gopher, FTP, NNTP, and set up my own BBS. That was also the year Mosiac 1.0 (the world\'s first truly popular web browser) was released! The internet finally had a face. My mind was properly blown! My web page (er, uhm, let\'s call it a master index of hacker tools) actually received more page views than all the rest of my college\'s student hosted pages combined. That fact eventually caught the attention of the Dean of the college who requested we privately meet to discuss my newfound passion. Honestly, I was a little stressed.\"Hacker tools\" carried a very negative connotation back then. One \"memorable\" tool granted access to a program\'s memory space, provided an interface for zeroing in on specific matching values over time, then made it possible to modify those values during runtime. Innocently enough I used this tool to modify my high score in Apeiron, a popular mac centipede clone from Ambrosia Software. The Dean was very nice. He complimented me on my independent studies.
