About Coby Hayes

Hailing from the Delta Region of the Mid-South, I have witnessed firsthand the deep-rooted educational inequities that continue to shape life outcomes in underserved communities. These experiences ignited my passion for systemic change through education reform and public service.Currently, I’m an undergraduate at Harvard College, concentrating in Government and Educational Studies. My academic focus lies at the intersection of educational equity, psychological development, and policy design—driven by a commitment to uplift historically marginalized voices.Beyond the classroom, I’ve worked on political campaigns, interned with local court systems, and led initiatives supporting first-generation and low-income students in the college admissions process. I also serve as the President of Harvard’s Black First-Years and am actively involved in campus inclusivity outreach through student government on campus, serving as the Inclusion Officer.I aspire to pursue a career in law and public policy, leveraging legal tools and legislative advocacy to build more equitable systems across education and justice.
