ABOUT COBUS BESTER

I\'m a certified information systems auditor with the ability to think creatively as well as analytically, with 13 years’ experience in both internal and external audit. 11 years of which was spent with PwC South Africa (based out of Johannesburg) and 2 with PwC UK (based out of London). My engagements entail information gathering on the complexity of IT landscapes, obtaining general understanding of the broader IT control environment, understanding cybersecurity layers within company networks, providing IT general controls assurance, as well as assurance related services such as consultations on the implementation of rule-sets used for Access Risks Analysis within Governance Risk and Compliance on SAP environments, as well as SAP & general IT control audits for clients across various industries including banking, energies and utilities, mines, financial service providers and government entities. My audit manager experience includes leading in country statutory engagements as well as group audits, both as the central group team and as a component team, with experience in engagements subject to ISA315 (revised) and ISA600 standards. Furthermore I have 2 years’ experience as a SAP consultant assisting clients with setting up and configuring SAP GRC Access control (AC) and Process control (PC) functionality within their SAP ERP landscapes. I also actively assist in skills development internally within PwC, providing on the job training to associates and managers on technical facets of SAP IT audits.
