About Michael Maroney

At Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown, Texas, my older sister convinced me to join the swim team, which led to pressure to play water polo, and I\'m still on a pool deck! After graduation from Sterling, I left Texas for California to compete as a dual sport athlete at Long Beach City College. I was then recruited by University of the Pacific which became my alma mater - go Tigers! Success seemed to follow me from pool to pool, and propelled me into a career in swim and water polo coaching which remains my full time commitment today. I am heading into my 17th season at Delta College. Over my career, I have been able to mentor 22 All-Americans and 37 All-Conference student-athletes, and have been honored as Coach of the Year on five occasions. Delta has been recognized as a leading community college in California and is nationally accredited. We pride ourselves upon creating a winning program, both in the water and in the classroom for the two years we have the privilege of supporting athletes. As a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, I brought scuba certification classes to Delta which has also been a nice complement to athletes who love water sports. Aqua Boss, LLC was formed to provide pool management services, lifeguard staff, and swim lessons for community facilities. Our valued clients are able to save time and money using Aqua Boss as a single source of services, and have enjoyed significant increases in both new young swimmers and facility attendance with the help of our friendly staff.
