ABOUT JOSH AMARAL

I help clinicians and performance coaches apply sports science and objective data to make better decisions about rehab and performance. In my role as a Business Development Manager at VALD, I work with allied health and high-performance environments to clarify the questions they’re trying to answer—return-to-sport readiness, load management, objective progress tracking—and then match them with technology and workflows that actually fit their practice. The focus is consultative: less “selling a product,” more building systems that improve clinical reasoning, communication, and defensibility of decisions.Alongside this, I own and operate Olympus Athletics, where I’ve spent over a decade coaching lifters and athletes ranging from first-time competitors to Division I athletes and national-level powerlifters. Olympus has been my applied lab for testing strength and conditioning methods, monitoring strategies, and ways of turning evidence into day-to-day training decisions that hold up under the bar, not just on paper. As a PhD candidate in Kinesiology (Strength & Conditioning), I’m interested in bridging research and practice—using scientific rigor to ask better questions in real-world settings. I’ve taught kinesiology at the college level and developed educational materials aimed at making complex concepts usable for students, coaches, and clinicians.I stay connected to the sport itself as a USPA judge, helping uphold standards in competition and contributing to a consistent, fair environment for lifters. If you’re looking to integrate objective data into your clinic or performance program—or want to talk through how to operationalize sports science in the real world—feel free to reach out or connect here.
