About Chizo Nwagwu
I translate policy into systems that work for people.I specialize in the messy middle ground where ambitious strategies meet operational reality. My work bridges policy mandates, technical delivery, and organizational capacity to improve how government serves millions- I\'m passionate about healthcare access—improving Medicaid enrollment, launching behavioral health resources (FindSupport.gov, 100K+ views), and developing data strategies that help communities achieve better long-term health outcomes. I care about tech policy that actually works—not just guidance documents, but operational frameworks that allow the government to expand AI literacy, safely adopt AI, conduct user research, and deliver digital services responsibly, ultimately impacting everyday people who rely on the government for essential services. I thrive when driving operational effectiveness—finding and removing the bottlenecks that keep good people from doing great work in government.🤲 I\'m committed to community building—creating networks where practitioners can learn from each other, solve problems collectively, and multiply impact across the ecosystem-Before federal service, I was a Fulbright Principal Researcher conducting behavioral health research in Lagos, Nigeria. At Carnegie Mellon, I co-designed digital products with local government and nonprofits, helping organizations embrace data-driven, user-centered decision making. I hold an M.Sc. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon and a B.A. in Policy Studies and Neuroscience from Syracuse University\'s Maxwell School.
