ABOUT CHARLES MARKELL

With over 20 years of global experience, Chad has honed a diverse set of skills that include senior leadership; transaction and strategic advisory; program and project management; technical design and planning within the infrastructure and transportation sectors, working for both private consultant and public organisations. He has focused his career on city shaping initiatives, such as multi-billion dollar multi-modal transport infrastructure projects, as well as large scale urban development and precinct renewal opportunities in Australia, Canada, and the U.S. Chad thrives on building dynamic, high-performing teams and working in highly collaborative matrix-style organizations with broad cross-functional teams interfacing with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. He is passionate about making meaningful contributions and creating environments that motivate, influence and lead teams to implement changes to meet organisational goals and ensure successful outcomes for all concerned. Chad’s diverse set of experiences and skills allows him to bridge disciplines that do not always work well together and this, in turn, contributes to his creation of novel solutions to complex planning and development issues. He is well regarded as a creative problem solver who gets things done. Additionally, his skills are further enriched through his unique personal pursuits. As a certified Dive Master, he explores his curious nature, has an ability to stay calm under pressure, makes quick decisions, and can guide others in challenging environments. Similarly, as an internationally competitive Ultimate Frisbee athlete his strategic thinking and innovative mindset has garnered competitive success and an unparalleled sense of teamwork.
