About Chris Larson
A generalist with over 10 years of experience building software and systems. I thrive in early stages of the product life cycle, where core methodology, algorithms and models, architecture, and product packaging intersect. I\'ve worn several hats: applied scientist, software engineer, technical leader; and have worked in a variety of domains including natural language processing, distributed systems & cloud infra, AR/VR, robotics and applied mechanics. In my spare time I enjoy teaching graduate level ML/NLP courses at Georgetown University. I received my PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from Cornell University, where I built tactile perception hardware and software for robotics and immersive computing applications, and published this work in top journals including Science, Soft Robotics, and Advanced Materials.
