About Thomas Burke

Innovation and communication are hallmarks of my extensive development experience. My most recent achievement was to design and deliver an enhancement to the API Gateway\'s rate limiting capability that increased throughput and scale by over an order of magnitude while delivering exceptional accuracy and rock-solid stability. Frequent testing, attention to detail, and stakeholder feedback paid off in this game-changing improvement to a key product differentiator.My solid design and development skills are evidenced by Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards that I received at the end of 2021. My ability to work well with internal and external customers earned me the Outstanding Technical Advocate award three years in a row. My leadership skills are also readily apparent because I\'m always selected for technical leadership positions shortly after moving into new assignments. I have substantial development skills in various programming languages (primarily JavaScript, C++, Java), but programming languages are just tools used to get the job done. My greatest strengths are design and leadership.

   Implement “industrial scale” enhancements for the API Gateway, most notably rate limiting capability noted above. I also lead my team in designing and implementing new API Gateway enforcement capabilities for API Connect to be used in cloud and on-premise installations.
