About Nikhil Arora

I\'m passionate about building foundational engineering platforms—compute, service communication,developer tools—that are secure by default and designed with developer experience at the core. My goal is to drive cross-sectional ownership across Layer-0 infrastructure, ensuring that security capabilities like authentication, secrets management, and data protection are not siloed, but deeply integrated into the development lifecycle. I believe that security should be baked into platform abstractions, allowing developers to express intent while the underlying systems enforce posture, policy, and protection seamlessly.

   Coupang

   Jul 2024 — Present

   I lead the core Security Infrastructure organization, responsible for Authentication, Secrets Management, and Data Protection across the company. My team owns Identity and Access Management (IAM) for end customers, third parties (e.g, sellers, suppliers, vendors, warehouse workers), and internal applications. We design and build security abstractions that prioritize developer experience and reduce risk—making secure development the path of least resistance. Our north star is enabling developers to express security posture as intent, allowing security to scale through platformization and automation.
