ABOUT CLIVE T.
In 2018 I became CISO and have dealt with a significant variety of challenging threat and data breach situations. I have innovated new means of increasing our protection, one of which we now offer to customers.• In 2020 I was asked to also lead my organisational response to Covid and so led Fujitsu’s hugely successful digital and workforce transformation to move from an office working model to a hybrid working model for people globally. This huge but unintended transformation won the President’s Award.• In 2022 I also became joint lead of Fujitsu’s crisis-driven project to separate from a long-term business partner in Russia, moving 50 customers and the work of 1800 people into our other delivery centres. This too has won the President’s award.I have achieved this because I can handle a crisis, I stay on the pitch when others do not, and I build outstanding teams.I am now the Head of Risk and Resilience and CISO and in 2023 I am building a Resilience Function closely aligned to the fresh Japanese emphasis on Economic Security but leaning heavily on Information Security as the point from where my team grew to its highly-regarded position and Resilience role.I have the following responsibilities for over people in our Global Delivery organisation:• Operational Risk• Information Security and Cybersecurity• Data Privacy• Crisis Management• Business and Service ContinuityBringing these things together enables us to achieve a more integrated response to the major issues we face and ensure that we are business oriented. The scope of what I cover is broad and includes:• The delivery responsibilities of people supporting Fujitsu’s customers• Our creation of technology or our use of the technology of others; spanning product and service lifecycle management• Anticipation of and response to major incidents, experienced by us or our customers• Ensuring that awareness, behaviour and culture initiatives ensure effective resilience across different international working stylesAnd it requires:• Leadership of people in stressful and VUCA conditions• Flexibility of thought• A willingness to act rather than waiting for others to do so• Personal resilience and a sense of humourI love what I do and I lead a wonderful, diverse and global team, but I am always looking for ways to be better at what I do.
