ABOUT CARLO LIPIZZI

I am an AI/ML researcher and educator focused on building trustworthy, real-world AI systems.My work is at the intersection of large language models, neurosymbolic methods and systems engineering, with an emphasis on validation, integration and human-in-the-loop approaches.I serve as Director of the Center for Complex Systems & Enterprises and teach practice-oriented courses in AI, data exploration and systems engineering. My teaching emphasizes systems thinking, problem decomposition and responsible use of LLMs, enabling students and domain experts to address complex analytical tasks beyond traditional coding-centric approaches.My research explores how to improve the trustworthiness of LLM-based systems through structured pipelines, symbolic reasoning and rigorous evaluation.I actively collaborate with industry and academic partners to translate these ideas into applied tools, educational innovation and deployable systems.
