ABOUT CLINTON VALENCIA

Hello, my name is Clinton Valencia, and I’m a rising junior majoring in Cognitive science and minoring in accounting with a specialization in computing at UCLA. Coming from immigrant parents who started a business from nothing, I\'ve always been inspired by the American dream and entrepreneurship. Since I was little, I\'ve acted professionally in commercials, TV shows, and movies leading me to develop the emotionally intelligent skill of communicating with innovators in different industries. Attending an all boys school, Loyola High, located in Pico-Union, the heart of downtown L.A. I felt called towards volunteering which laid the groundwork for me to develop my identity as a transformative leader. Through this institution, I was able to volunteer on Skid Row, and during this post-quarantine time, I became inspired to make an impact by starting my own short film production company where I wrote, shot, and edited films. Coming to UCLA, I grew to develop a deeper appreciation for emerging technology, leading me to pursue a STEM education where I carried my passions of entrepreneurship. Seeking to work within the startup industry, I plan to use my background with computing and accounting to spend my early 20s pursuing a career in tech consulting to understand people and business more accurately. Taking the skillset and connections I develop within that industry, I plan to go into the startup field.
