ABOUT CLIFFORD E. THERMER
In June of 2019, Dr. Thermer was appointed Dean of the new School of Business, Management and Advanced Manufacturing (BMAM) at Goodwin College. The school is home to the Business and Advanced Manufacturing Center where degrees and certificates in Business, Accounting, Management, CNC Machining, Supply Chain & Logistics, Quality Inspections, and Welding may be found along with a Master\'s Degree in Organizational Leadership. On January 6, 2020, Goodwin College became Goodwin University and BMAM became the School of Business Technology and Advanced Manufacturing.Prior to Goodwin, Dr. Thermer had taught at all levels of higher education holding adjunct positions at Middlesex CC in the Criminal Justice Program; a visiting faculty position in the Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership and still serves as an adjunct, teaching policing and leadership related courses in the Sociology Department at the U. of Hartford; an adjunct faculty at the Albertus Magnus College – New Dimensions Program at the graduate and undergraduate levels teaching Change Strategies, Religion in the Workplace and Government. He held positions at Quinnipiac U. as Associate Director of the Organizational Leadership Program and Visiting Asst. Professor of Management in the Lender School of Business.Prior to his academic career, Dr. Thermer served 24-years in law enforcement in both municipal and state police forces in a wide variety of patrol and administrative functions. He retired from state service in 2009 at the rank of Lieutenant as the Commandant of the State Police Academy and Educational Coordinator for the Department of Public Safety. Career includes fifteen (15) years developing training at the recruit, incumbent, supervisory and management levels; implementing traditional and distance learning initiatives for personnel; staff development, liaison with colleges and universities; and providing educational advising to personnel. Dr. Thermer currently serves as Vice President and Operations Manager for the Connecticut State Police Academy Alumni Education Foundation Store, a non-profit organization where he has held a variety of roles since 1997.
