About Cliff Wagner
From early planning through execution, Cliff Wagner has developed a reputation for shaping innovative public relations and governmental affairs solutions and providing effective, on-point public policy analysis and guidance. Retired in the rank of Major, after 28 years of active and reserve military service, Cliff Wagner has served in the United States Army in a wide range of positions, including armor crewman (tank gunner), paratrooper, drill sergeant, basic combat training executive officer and company commander. Mobilized in 2005 for Operation Iraqi Freedom as company commander, Wagner served 12 months with the Multinational Division Central South. For his distinguished service in Iraq, Wagner was awarded the United States Bronze Star, the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Medal. He was also awarded the Medal of Civic Honor by the National Conference of State Legislatures. Wagner presently serves as the City Administrator for the City of Gridley California. Prior to his current role, he served as Chief of Staff to Orange County Assemblyman Steven S. Choi and has served as an advisor or principal consultant to the Republican leadership in both the Assembly and Senate. Wagner received a commission in the United States Army Reserve in December 1993, graduating from California State University, Chico, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. In May 1997, Wagner completed a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University, Chico.
