Being a Senior Practice Manager in chambers is a very diverse role.My role includes - Managing a team of practice managers- Undertaking team appraisals- Barristers practice development meetings and producing a plan for the year ahead setting kpi’s - Building and maintaining client relationships- Recommendations of counsel - according to suitability for the work in question- Fee negotiations, estimates and fee structures- Diary management- Billing- Administration of contractual terms- Arranging/attending events, such as seminars, training and social networking- I was part of a brain storming group who developed chambers monthly newsletter which goes out to more than clients each month. In my first year of becoming Senior Practice Manager chambers income increased by around 10%.

As Senior Clerk a key part of my role is to act as a client relationship manager to all of chambers clients.I am responsible for building and maintaining domestic based client relationships. I have worked with some of chambers clients for 16 to 18 years, building a strong and trustworthy relationship. Cross-selling chambers services and driving new revenue growth.
