As a Safety Business Partner at Te Whatu Ora, I work alongside clinical and operational teams to strengthen our safety culture and ensure our people can deliver exceptional care in an environment that supports their wellbeing. My portfolio includes perioperative services and medical teams, where I partner closely with theatre staff, SMOs, RMOs, and wider clinical leaders to embed safe systems, proactive risk management, and continuous improvement.I coach and support a talented team of Safety Coordinators and Safety Advisors, helping them grow their capability, navigate complex challenges, and deliver consistent, high‑quality safety support across the organisation. Together, we translate safety principles into practical, people‑centred solutions.My role also spans a range of strategic and operational projects, from improving incident management processes to strengthening safety governance, enhancing reporting quality, and supporting organisational change initiatives. I’m passionate about building trust, enabling open conversations, and empowering teams to take ownership of safety in a way that feels meaningful and sustainable.
