About Clayton Compton
My experience to date has focused on engineering in Quality and R&D, where I was fortunate to work with highly innovative teams on a range of medical device projects. My efforts include collaboration on sustaining, new product development, and design transfer projects for disposable and capital devices.I\'ve contributed towards developing new products through a Quality and R&D lense. Across the projects I\'ve been a part of, I\'ve experienced new product development at various stages including project planning, design input and output development, and design transfer. At BD I received a R&D excellence award for having the most qualified invention disclosures in the business unit.As a quality engineer supporting sustaining projects, I\'ve collaborated, supported, and completed quality engineering deliverables for EU MDR projects, new supplier and component qualification projects, label change projects, and process automation projects. Through my contributions on project teams, I received a business unit peer-to-peer award for thriving on innovation and demanding quality. At BD, I transitioned from a design center quality engineer to a plant quality engineer and relocated to a closing facility. This transition was to take part in a plant-to-plant transfer project aimed at transferring legacy products overseas. During this project I lead a team of validation engineers to define the current manufacturing practice at the closing facility and develop product specifications for the transfer. I prepared the receiving facility to have successful validations and collaborated on their validation documentation. My academic experience was laboratory oriented where I contributed to advancing the study of cardiac muscle tissue regeneration through designing and implementing new devices, designing and executing cell seeding studies, and improving a decellularization process.Rounding out my knowledge, I have certifications for medical device auditing and a six sigma yellow belt.I thrive in environments where “blue sky” imagination reigns and work ethic is valued. Others know me best for bringing both creativity and analytical rigor to team initiatives. I take pride in helping a team unleash new concepts and ideas while nothing slips through the cracks. I welcome connections for networking and career opportunities.
