About Clay Vanbuskirk

I am a highly dedicated student and working professional. I am extremely hard working and competent with everything I do. I am skilled with excel, solid works, and computer programming. This past year at St. Thomas I was a peer minister where I lived in the first year resident hall, I organized volunteering opportunities, created events for current students, and connected with the students in my dorm. In STEM, I am a peer mentor for ENGR 160 at St. Thomas, this upcoming year will be my second year of doing this even after a major switch from civil engineering to mechanical engineering. This upcoming school year I will be a peer mentor for ENGR 160, possibly a peer mentor for ENGR 170, and I will be working in campus ministry. This past winter I worked with a local HVAC company and helped install/develop new systems in homes and retail stores. Before this, I was a dairy farmer for three years of my life. Being a dairy farmer taught me much about life, work, and innovation. As a farmer with animals depending on you, when something breaks a solution needs to be found. This past occupation has helped me through my life, it has developed my skills, and taught me valuable life lessons. Currently, I am an intern at All-Flex flexible circuits where I am doing work with SOPs, IQ PQ OQ, and creating excel software for testing. My career goals are to become a mechanical engineer that does work on a subject related to the outdoors. I am not sure on if I would want to work on something such as hiking gear, fishing gear, or aim this goal towards helping the earth by minimizing energy outputs.
