It\'s been a lifetime of explaining to my parents (and others) this whole \"writing thing.\" After serving an enlistment in the Coast Guard, my dad told me when I became a writer (a young journalist), I\'d starve to death. Given my first reporting job paid $6 per hour, he was very close to right. He also said that every time I talked about writing, he thought of John Boy from The Waltons, sitting in his room trying to think of something to write. Here\'s the thing, I discovered I like writing and communicating to help people, and specifically to help small businesses make more money. The money you spend on my services is an investment. It should tangibly and directly help you sell more or sign up more customers. You should make more money. That\'s quite different from John Boy, no?
