ABOUT CLAUDIO RUSSELLO

I am a trainer of interpreters at UNINT - University of International Studies in Rome - and a published author in the field. I am also a professional conference interpreter with nearly two decades of experience. Teaching: I have been a lecturer at UNINT since the academic year 2015/2016, teaching courses such as Interpreting Technologies, Video Game Localization, Live Subtitling through Respeaking, Theory of Interpretation in the Master\'s Degree Program in Interpretation and Translation. In addition, I offer training to professional interpreters and translators, both independently and through esteemed professional associations like AITI and AssoInterpreti. Additionally, I am an official trainer for Computer-Assisted software InterpretBank. Membership in Associations and Research: I am a member of the Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters (AITI) as an associate member (membership number 223025), in accordance with Law No. 4 of January 14, 2013. I am also part of the UNINTerm research group at the Corpus Linguistics Research Center (CLC) of the University of International Studies in Rome (UNINT). I have participated in research projects such as the SUB! PROJECT, which explores the integration of assisted and automatic translation technologies, automatic speech recognition, and automatic spotting in the subtitling process. I have also been involved in research projects focusing on the role of mediators in meetings with English-speaking asylum seekers in Italy, with a specific emphasis on ethics and training. My research areas include interpretating technologies, automatic speech recognition (ASR), automatic interpretation, generative artificial intelligence, situated learning through virtual and augmented reality, respeaking, interlingual live subtitling, workflows in audiovisual translation.
