Responsibilities include domestic and international trademark prosecution, oppositions, and cancellation proceedings; manage outside counsels on various IP matters in the U.S. and other countries and provide them with strategic guidance where necessary. Manage domestic and foreign trademark enforcement matters, including preparing and sending cease and desist letters, submitting DNS take-down requests and identifying counterfeit products, parallel importation/gray market. Perform U.S. and foreign trademark clearance and determine appropriate strategies in support of our global business expansion. Managing criminal enforcement proceedings with respect to counterfeit goods, including the oversight of investigations, gathering, and coordinating evidence and liaising with global law enforcement agencies, private investigative groups, customs agencies and prosecutors to secure criminal proceedings. Advise business units on intellectual property-related matters, including copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, and best practices in the brand protection space. Review marketing materials and other proposed uses of the company’s trademarks to ensure compliance with the Company’s Trademark Identity Guidelines. Provide trademark trainings and presentations to Carrier employees on the use of company and third-party trademarks and copyrights as needed. Oversee anual budget and expenses.
